Our cacao comes from non-certified organic farms. We personally know each of the farmers and their farms and conduct several monitoring visits per year to ensure no synthetic or chemical inputs are used.

To’ak pays cacao growers the highest farmgate prices of any chocolate company in the continent: 3-9x more than the Fair Trade price. Read more in our Transparency Report.

A Christmas gift that did not last!

I purchased this for a friend who is a native of Portugal, a Professora at a local university, and a confirmed chocoholic! It was to be an early Christmas gift and due to information on the website concerning how to store the chocolate, I decided to gift it shortly after it arrived! I talked to her 3 or 4 days later and she told me it was almost all gone! She said she tasted it, and it was so delicious that she couldn't stop tasting! She said she thought it may have been the best present she had ever gotten! You guys are fantastic! The shipment arrived much quickly than anticipated and the packaging was beyond impressive! Next time I order, I fully intend to taste some myself! I thought perhaps my friend would share but it "disappeared" much too quickly for that!

Regenerative Cacao that Supports Conservation
Regenerative Cacao that Supports Conservation

We’re using cacao trees to help restore forest on degraded agricultural land. It’s one element of a holistic regenerative agroforestry project that combines cacao trees with a diversity of tall native shade trees, fruit trees, and other food crops like bananas and plantains.

We’re doing this in partnership with TMA (Third Millennium Alliance), a nonprofit rainforest conservation organization that has been protecting and restoring forests in Ecuador since 2007.
